The Message of the Engraved Stones of Ica

The Message of the Engraved Stones of Ica contains the results of my many years of patient and systematic scientific investigation about the origin and meaning of the oddly carved stones with enigmatic inscriptions found in a hidden deposit under the sands of the Ocacaje desert of Peru in 1961. The Peruvian and foreign archaeological community have prejudged these carved stones depriving the public of seeing the true scientific magnitude of these specimens - the only ones in the world. Instead of studying them the scientific community simply declared them of “no archaeological value” and arbitrarily determined them fakes. From that ominous opinion the mysterious stones were given up to time and all but forgotten.

On May 13, 1966 when it looked as if the archaeologists had achieved their purpose a childhood friend of mine had the idea of giving me one of these carved stones as a paperweight for my birthday, so began my long and happy association with the carved stones of Ica. Neither I nor anyone else could have imagined that as a doctor of medicine I would be the one to free these specimens from their unjust prison having lain hidden for nearly six years in a junkyard heap at the Regional Museum of Ica. I must confess that once I received the first engraved stone I felt I was standing right in front of a very archaic human history and furthermore felt I must rescue, study, and guard these fascinating abandoned stones. Years later I discovered that the stones were part of an extraordinary document of human history far beyond the planetary scope and not withstanding the geological time frame assigned to the origin and evolution of humankind.

This unprecedented discovery challenged human pre-historical theories bringing to light a Universal History. My research revealed this massive collection to be a “library in stone” revealing an as yet unknown human history, a hidden history outside the established human knowledge and official written record. Here was evidence that we were not the first humanity on earth. With scientific rigor and professional honesty I endeavored to decode the message of these stones finding clear evidence of a highly evolved remote humanity that lived concurrent with the dinosaur. A humanity that cultivated a technical civilization during the Mesozoic period when reptiles roamed the earth. This surprising discovery was given to the Peruvian Press in 1971 to provoke scientific curiosity and to bring about an awareness, and responsibility, of the cultural authority.

At the time the established elite, with their short-sighted condescending attitude, declared once again that the coexistence of man and dinosaur was impossible and pointed to the keen author of this hoax as none other then the investigator himself, Dr. Cabrera. These scientific authorities were quick to point out that Dr. Cabrera must have been the perpetrator behind the hoax and that he had carved all the stones himself or else mentored a group of handymen to do it for him!



More then 27 years have elapsed since my fortuitous meeting with the Engraved Stones of Ica and over 13 years have passed since I first presented my discoveries. Time and again I have invited scientific authorities to study the engraved stones but neither their curiosity nor interest could free them from their prejudices. I am now more convinced then ever that man is not perfect and can make mistakes but the library of Stone Books is a human fact, one of such magnitude and transcendence that, as a scientist, I consider it a quantum discovery that will one day make the human experience much richer.

I extend my invitation to all men and women of good will from one end of the planet to the other to study the 11,000 carved stones in my Collection. I do this because these Stone Books prompt us to set aside our pettiness and rise to meet new cultural, scientific and technological perspectives and to embrace and maintain our natural resources and planetary systems for future generations.

In the desert of Ocucaje a few kilometers from the original deposit where the engraved stones of Ica were found, I have discovered a paleontologic measure set in sedimentary rock from the superior cretacic period of the Mesozoic geological era. It was here I began looking for fossils in this very rich measure in a systematic way and in accordance with the time and money I had available. On October 14, 1984 I found a section of sedimentary strata in which there was a number of fossilized animal and vegetable specimens from Mesozoic fauna, and flora.

Suddenly and with great surprise, I found part of a backbone - a dorsolumbar with its iliac bones that belonged to a human being similar to the man of our day, nearby were three incomplete heads and fragments of a dinosaur backbone belonging to the triceratops species, close to these I found egg specimens, sections of skin of dinosaurs of different species, and an almost complete skeleton of a phitosaur (archaic reptile similar to the crocodile) equally fossilized!



Firstly, let me state that the coexistence of man and dinosaur as depicted in the Stone Books of Ica confirms this discovery. Secondly, that man lived with large saurios at the end of the Mesozoic era as fossils have been found in the same geologic stratum. Thirdly, that man may very well have been the cause of the extinction of these reptiles, and lastly, that there have been discovered in the palentologic measure tracks of a monstrous deluge which covered all that existed in this area of the planet. I have no doubt that I will continue to find objects, instruments, and even buildings in this stratum if I continue searching. Here is irrefutable proof of a scientific and technological standard of a pre-existing, archaic humanity living concurrent with the dinosaur.

In 1985 I felt it my scientific obligation to present to the world these meaningful anthropological discoveries and therefore accepted an invitation as a lecturer made by Don Rafael Mendez to present at the “International Congresses of 100 Years of Investigation on the Grand Mysteries of Man,” in Costa Rica. Not only did I have the privilege to present these theories to the Congress but also to invite my colleagues to accompany me in my explorations of the Ocucaje measure.



I ask you to seek to understand the scientific information that is contained within the thousands of engravings etched upon the Stones of Ica. I have dedicated many years of my life to this cause without nearly enough time to embrace the full immensity of this investigation. There are still untold numbers of carved stones lain hidden under the desert floor of Ocucaje waiting to reveal untold truths.

There can be no rest for me as long as man remains blind to his own true history, to do so may cause him to error again, constituting further catastrophe for humanity. I know we have the ability to correct our errors and I will use all my strength and will to alert humanity to the historic truth of our planet - that if we don't act to change our ways we will face another cataclysm like the one that destroyed the previous world at the end of the Mesozic period.
