WOMB OF THE PACHAMAMA
The principle of the dark feminine is the energy of the Goddess - the Pachamama. Nowhere is this energy more palpable, more experienced within and without, than in the Rainforest of the Amazon. Join us for a unique journey into the energy of the dark feminine to feel and connect with the beauty, harmony and the resonance of her chaotic wildness!We will reside in a beautiful riverside clearing Lodge and experience the teachings of the forest - the Sacred Plant Medicine. We'll meet and work with local medicine men and women and share our inner journeys, our dreams, our own act of embracing this dark feminine within. This is a journey of our individual path toward wholeness, the deep connectedness with our physical selves and the physicality of Pachamama.
After experiencing the light of Machu Picchu and the re-awakening of the Divine Feminine in the ceremonies at the ancient sacred sites, we will be prepared for immersion into the womb of darkness represented by the Rainforest. In a safe, natural environment, we will be free to explore our inner depths and fears, surrounded by raw, natural beauty.We begin our journey in Lima with a visit to the astonishing Sun Temple at Pachacamac, then on to the healing lagoons of Chilca known for their curative properties. Evening in Miraflores, the affluent suburb of Lima before our early morning departure for Iquitos and the Amazon Rainforest.
At three thousand two hundred kilometers upriver from it's mouth, this jungle locked city is accessible only by air, or boat. At one time it was the central port from which most of the world's rubber was shipped to Europe and still displays some of the vestiges of that time. A wonderful film depicting the rubber trade of the colonial times is Hertzog's "Fitzcaraldo" available at most Blockbuster Video stores. Today Iquitos is a colorful friendly city with three wheeled taxis and flavorful atmosphere. The Parque Quistococha is located here - a Lake Reserve for animals and local plant life.We spend five days with the local medicine peoples in the vast ecosystem of the jungle. The local tribes will share their customs and crafts and teach of the sacred medicine plants. The Peruvian rainforest is a place that teaches respect and sensitivity to nature and all its creatures, but is not dangerous. It is a disappearing ecosystem essential for the health of our planet.
For those wishing to experience the sacred plant medicine, Ayahuasca, rituals (indigenous to the Peruvian Amazon region), a skilled medicine person will guide us in two special nighttime ceremonies. It's during this ceremony that many will experience the inner depths of dark femininity, the fear or shadow of our deepest self, the chaos and ultimate reorganization of our perceptions of reality... 
It is a ceremony of purification - a bringing to awareness and receiving the teaching of the plant medicine.
This is an optional activity for those who feel the courage, or desire, to know themselves at this deep level, and to receive the sacred lessons of the medicine plant teachings. Please advise us if you desire participation and additional information will be sent to you. A notarized Waiver must be signed in order to participate in the plant ceremony.
